Many of us Xbox 360 Gamers were truly excited about the release of Halo 3. Imagine our disappointment when our consoles stopped working. Thinking it is a small problem, we turn off the Xbox, let it cool, and turn it back on to discover…The Red Ring of Death. Panic sets in. 3 RED LIGHTS

Not to worry though, Microsoft is offering great customer service and repairs! Professionally done and shipped in weeks IF you have just recently bought your console in the last 90 days AND it has never been opened. For many of us, this is not the case.

xbox repairs -> Our other option is paying for repairs. This usually works but involves a salesman who is much happier to sell you a whole new console than repair your current one. Unfortunately, it also costs $100-$140 easily. $100? I’d rather spend it on a game, but I cannot play the game unless the console is working!

Finally, I asked myself the question. How hard can it be to fix the Red Ring of Death myself? If I can learn to fix the problem then I will not have to pay someone else to do it AND I can show my friends as well. First I have to figure out the problem.

RROD The Red Ring Of Death happens when your Xbox 360 overheats. The system was not designed to handle some of the heat being generated by the more graphically intense games out there. This is going to be a serious problem for a lot of us. So how do we keep the console cool enough to keep running? The answer is surprisingly simple and, if you do a little research, you can have it done in 30 minutes or less. You’ll be up and gaming in no time!

3 RED LIGHTS

If you’ve happen to get the red ring of death then this article is going to explain to you a self-fix-it method that you can learn how to do and apply yourself to your console to permanently repair it. After four years this xbox repairs have risen to the top of all repair methods as being the safest, fastest, most reliable and effective repair currently available. What separates this red ring of death repair from all others is that it get’s to the root of the red light problem and stops it there. This is something that even the manufacturer has been incapable of doing.

In order to properly apply this red ring of death repair a few things need to be understood. First it’s good to mention that the red ring of death is cause by your system overheating. This problem is a defect of the console from the earliest stages of it’s development. While we can’t necessarily stop the console from using to much power, we can properly protect the system to be able to withstand the amounts of heat emitted by the console. This is a very simple process and requires only two modifications. The first modification deals with the GPU and CPU which are two vital computer chips necessary for the Xbox 360 to run itself. The second modification deals with the heat sinks which are designed to keep the GPU and CPU protected from heat exposure.

The heat sinks are two pieces of hardware that sit over the GPU and CPU to keep them cool. What ends up happening is when your console starts to overheat the motherboard begins to bend. It get’s flexible from the heat and since the heat sinks aren’t situated on the motherboard sufficiently enough, they get thrown off balance and fail to protect the GPU and CPU, leaving them directly open to heat exposure. The solution here is to create a more sturdy foundation using a specific set of washers and screws that will hold up to the heat, and prevent it from moving and getting thrown off balance.

The GPU and CPU were originally designed to have a thermal compounding paste to protect them from direct exposure to heat. Unfortunately since the heat emitted from the Xbox 360 is so great, this paste is insufficient and cannot withstand the heat from the console. So when the heat sinks are thrown off balance the heat seeps right through to the metal portions of the chips and this causes them to overheat and shut down. And this is how the red ring of death results. The solution is to remove the old thermal paste, and apply a more heat resistant compound. Once this new paste is set in place your console will then be protected from extreme degrees of heat, and direct heat exposure.

This red ring of death repair makes it possible for the Xbox 360 to run itself again. Since the system will be reinforced with a more durable foundation for the heat sinks, and a more protective thermal compound for the GPU and CPU, the system simply won’t overheat. This will allow you to play your system in peace without worry of getting the red ring of death again. So if you need a red ring of death repair for your own console then I would highly advise the use of the above method, since it seems to be the only repair that is actually giving people the results they need.

Right now on the market the Xbox 360 is by far the most popular gaming system available. With it’s breathtaking graphics, surround sound capabilities, and online group game play, the Xbox 360 is going to continue to remain at the top of it’s class. Unfortunately, the console is prone to a number of errors which make the repair of Xbox 360 problems necessary.

The first stop to repairing the problems an Xbox 360 can develop is to learn and understand what causes these problems. Some people may believe there are many different things that causes these problems but that’s not true. The most common cause of these problems is almost always the design of the Xbox leading to the console overheating, thus resulting in the numerous error codes the Xbox 360 is notorious for below in this article few xbox repairs are given with proper techniques.

These error codes are displayed as red lights on the console and each code will display a certain amount of red lights flashing indicating the error. 1 red light being displayed on the console is usually an indication of the e74 error, 2 red lights usually indicates that your console is experiencing a general overheating problem, 3 red lights are indicating that you are experiencing the notorious 3 red rings of death error, and four red lights are indicating that you have a bad AV cable, or a displaced GPU chip.

With all four of these errors the most common problem causing them is due to too much heat building up in your Xbox 360 RROD console while playing. With that being said, the best repair of Xbox 360 problems will focus on solving the overheating issue.

If you have a warranty you can send you console off to Microsoft, but you will have to wait up to two months for them to complete the repairs. If you aren’t under the warranty then allowing Microsoft to make the repairs will make you at least a few hundred dollars less richer thanks to shipping costs and the amount of time it will take to make the repairs.

This is why most people believe the best repair of Xbox 360 problems is to just do it themselves. Repairing your Xbox 360 and solving the overheating problem is a straight forward process one you understand whats causing the console to overheat.

The cause of the Xbox 360 overheating and developing errors is due to Microsoft goofing up during their development of the console. Many people speculate that Microsoft was such in a rush to put the 360 on the market that they didn’t do any testing to make sure the console was free of these errors.

When the console overheats it causes the solder holding the GPU chip in place to become damaged to the point where the GPU becomes loose. The heat sinks and protective thermal paste designed to keep the GPU chip safe from too much heat generated during game play is not effective enough to withstand high temperatures. So eventually the GPU will get knocked out of place and it will lead to the development of the many different errors.

To fix this problem yourself you must disassemble your console and get inside it to adjust the cooling system properly. Once you have made these adjustments you will then need to position the GPU chip back in it’s proper place. This is an easy way to fix your console but you may need the help of a repair guide to give you step by step on details on how to do this yourself.
